Charles was born in Washington, DC on February 27, 1971, and reared in Hawaii. He has lived a life that most people only dream of. Charles traveled the world by the age of 17 as the son of an army colonel, whose father was profiled in the Los Angeles Times in 1994 by Robin Wright.
He's lived in England, Israel, and other parts of the United States. He attended high school in Fort Worth (Southwest) for a brief period before transferring to London Central (High Wycombe, England). Charles attended Tarrant County Junior College on a voice scholarship and later the University of Texas at Arlington.
