Carol Kane is a well-known actress who has been on Broadway as well as in television and cinema. Kane's work in the film Hester Street earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Kane is most remembered for her role as Simka Dahblitz-Gravas in the television series Taxi, where she played the wife of Latka Gravas (Andy Kaufman). She won two Emmys for her portrayal of Simka.
