Brad Keywell Biography

Brad Keywell is the co-founder and managing partner of Lightbank, a venture fund investing in disruptive technology businesses. Brad is a co-founder and director of Groupon, a co-founder and director of MediaBank, and a co-founder and director of Echo Global Logistics. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Equity Residential, an S&P 500 company.

Keywell is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was appointed Chairman of the Illinois Innovation Council by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, and has served on the Mayor of Chicago's Committee on Technology Infrastructure.

Keywell is the Founder and Chairman of Chicago Ideas Week, an annual event emerging as one of the country's premier ideas and innovation platforms, which hosts nearly 225+ speakers at 80+ events that draw global media coverage. Brad is the chairman of the Future Founders Foundation, which runs programs to teach and inspire students in entrepreneurship.

Keywell is a trustee of the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is on the Advisory Board of the Directors College for Global Business at Michigan Law School. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of NorthShore University HealthSystem, a $1.8 billion healthcare organization. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

Keywell received the Entrepreneurial Champion Award from the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center in 2011, and in both 2013 and 2000 received the Conrad Hilton Distinguished Entrepreneur Award from Loyola Marymount University.
