Bob Schwartz is a serial entrepreneur who has built and led technology and consumer-facing online businesses, generating over $1 billion in exits for shareholders and founders through acquisitions by Amazon, eBay, Nordstrom, Packard Bell, First American, Cendant, Aetna, and others. Most recently, he was President of Magento (sold to eBay Inc), where he joined the two founders and 40 employees in 2009 to build the global market leader in eCommerce technology, powered by an open-source business model and ecosystem, which now has 350 employees and is used by 30% of eCommerce companies worldwide. Bob consults a portfolio of growing firms at the confluence of retail and technology as Managing Partner of SchwartzGroup Advisory LLC / 47 B Street, with an emphasis on strategy, people, technology, funding, and brand. Bob was hired by Nordstrom's CEO to grow Nordstrom.com into an industry leader earlier in his career. Today, Nordstrom.com will generate over $2 billion in revenue each year. In the early 1990s, he began his career in technology by self-learning graphical programming and C++ and developing the first online registration application for personal computers. Prior to the internet, Bob began his e-commerce career selling computers on Prodigy.
