Benoit Garbe Biography

Millward Brown Optimor's vice president, Benoit Garbe, is in charge of important worldwide brand strategy projects as well as continuing business development efforts. He and Millward Brown Optimor have worked with Jim Stengel for many years, dating back to Jim's stint as P&G's global marketing executive. Benoit has recently collaborated with Jim on his book, Grow: How Ideals Power Growth and Profit at the World's Greatest Companies. Benoit has a unique perspective and understanding of the client experience, having previously worked on the client side. With expertise in portfolio management, brand design, brand-growth strategy, licensing, and brand valuation in the context of measurement and analytics, he advises clients on how to develop their companies and transform their organizations via branding. Since joining Optimor in 2007, Benoit has worked with clients such as Gucci, Microsoft, Pepsi, P&G, Ritz Paris, Mayo Clinic, and Vodafone. Benoit formerly worked at Ogilvy & Mather as the worldwide strategy planner for American Express. He worked in brand management and strategy at Nike, Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessy, and Diageo. He has lectured at Columbia University and spoken at several conferences on the issue of brand value generation. Benoit has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in marketing from Lille's Ecole Superieure de Commerce. His native tongue is French, but he is also proficient in English and conversant in Spanish. Benoit and his wife have a small boy and live in Brooklyn, New York.
