Anthony Sullivan Biography

Anthony was born in a small village in Devon, England in 1969. His mother was a teacher and his father, a successful entrepreneur. He became passionate about demonstrating new problem solving inventions as a teenager and sacrificed university to study the renowned banter that the world famous street vendors of London employ to demonstrate and sell their wears. By age twenty one, Anthony became the œman to go to for new products and had a street reputation that was second to none for dreaming up new ways to capture his audience with amazing demonstrations.

It was on a surf trip to the north shore of Hawaii where he discovered the need for a new floor mop while trying to clean up wet sandy floors in a youth hostel. Three months later he uncovered the product that was to transport him from the gritty streets of London and place him firmly on the screen at the world™s largest television shopping network, HSN.

In the early 90™s and with infomercials becoming the new medium to sell product, Anthony jumped on a plane to the US and teamed up with a fledgling company that was manufacturing the product. At a home show in Florida he was spotted by a talent scout for HSN who signed him to appear on live television and sell; what became internationally known as The Smart Mop.

American viewers quickly embraced Anthony™s English style and enthusiasm as he went on to smash sales records and sell tens of millions of dollars worth of product “ always focusing on housewares and items that solved common problems at a great value “ and seamlessly working in his flamboyant, disarming humor at every opportunity.

In 1998, HSN so valued Anthony™s ability to light up the phone lines and sell product that he was hired as a Prime-Time network show host where he fulfilled a one year contract and honed his on air television skills.

The lure of the quest for œthe next big thing was too much for Anthony to resist and in 1999 he left HSN and formed Sullivan Productions with one goal in mind¦ to be the œnew ideas man and bring exciting new products to televisions everywhere.

Since then he has launched over twenty products, sold hundreds of millions of millions of dollars worth of merchandise and has been recognized a record breaking three times for making the best commercial of the year by the Electronic Retailing Association.

He™s been featured on NBC™s 20-20, ABC™s Nightline , CBS, USA Network , BBC, Fox News, Rachel Ray, Hollywood 411, Access Hollywood, and made front page news in the business sections of the LA Times, NY Times, USA Today, St. Petersburg Times, Ad Age and other publications.

In 1999 Anthony was singled out to appear in the acclaimed BBC Bravo documentary series œLouis Theroux™s Weird Weekends in addition to the BBC documentary œSurf City (1988).

He also competed in œThe World™s Toughest Race Mark Burnett™s Eco Challenge Fiji 2002 and was featured on the USA Network series. He was one of three œInfomercial Millionaires to be selected to appear on NBC™s hit game show œOne V™s 100.

In 2009, Anthony was Executive Producer and the co-star along with Billy Mays of Discovery Channels breakout hit TV show œPitchmen.
