Anna Patterson is the CEO and Founder of Cuil, a search engine. Her research focuses on scaling architecture, which addresses one of the most pressing issues in search: the Internet's exponential expansion. Anna was the brains behind TeraGoogle, Google's massive search database, which debuted in early 2006. Anna was the technical lead of one of Google's two Web ranking divisions, as well as the manager of GoogleBase and the key element of Google's ad-matching engine. After inventing, programming, and selling Recall, the world's largest search engine at the time with 12 billion pages, she joined Google in 2004. Anna holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and formerly worked at Stanford University as a Research Scientist.
