Two of her pieces won a media award from the National Council on Family Relations in 2002, and in 2003, a section on young drivers won an award from MADD. Ms. Pleshette Murphy worked as the editor of Good Food, the executive editor of Diversion Magazine, and the senior editor of Redbook before joining Parents. Ms. Pleshette Murphy is a Harvard University alumna with a bachelor's degree in psychology. In 1990, she was recognized by the YMCA's Academy of Women Achievers. She heads the board of the Greyston Family Inn, which offers previously homeless families housing, social assistance, and child care, and she also serves on the board of Zero to Three, the nation's premier nonprofit committed to improving the well-being of babies and toddlers. Ms. Pleshette Murphy lives in New York City with her husband, Steven Pleshette Murphy, CEO of Rodale, Inc., and their children, Madeleine and Nick.
