Ann Barron-DiCamillo Biography

Strategic Cyber Ventures, LLC's Chief Technology Officer is Ann Barron-DiCamillo (SCV). Ms. Barron-DiCamillo uses her knowledge from 18 years in information technology development and cybersecurity operations to discover emerging solutions that solve capacity gaps as they emerge in the dynamic environment of the internet. Ms. Barron-DiCamillo was the Director of the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) prior to joining SCV, where she oversaw DHS's operations in cyberspace to respond to significant incidents, assess threats, and communicate essential cybersecurity information with trusted partners across the world. She oversaw a 24-hour operation center that receives and analyzes hundreds of incident reports and over 40 billion network transactions per day, as well as collaborates with over 400 public and private sector partners, all while adhering to strict controls to protect Americans' privacy and civil liberties. Ms. Barron-DiCamillo previously worked for the Defense Information Systems Agency, where she was Chief of the Capabilities and Control Branch and Chief Engineer of the Enclave Host Security Division. Her Federal Government experience includes serving as the Chief of Analytical and Modeling Simulation Group at the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration and as a legislative aide to a former United States Congressman. Ms. Barron-DiCamillo has expertise working with system integration businesses in software development and application development outside of government. Ms. Barron-DiCamillo is a known international cybersecurity expert who was recently named to FCW magazine's 2016 Top Federal 100 and is the 2016 recipient of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers' Technology Champion Award. She was designated one of the “Top 10 Women ‘Power Players' in IT Security” by SC Magazine in 2015, as well as one of the “Top 10 Women Cyber Guardians You Should Know” by NextGov. She holds a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a master's degree in information systems from American University. She graduated from Harvard University's Kennedy School's Senior Executive Fellows (SEF) program in 2016. She has been a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) since 2003 and is now an Adjunct Professor at American University Kogod Business School, where she teaches graduate/undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and Governance.
