Sir Anish Kapoor is a sculptor from the United Kingdom. Kapoor, who was born in Bombay, has lived and worked in London since the early 1970s when he went to study art at Hornsey College of Art and then the Chelsea School of Art and Design.
In 1990, he was given the Premio Duemila Prize for representing Britain at the XLIV Venice Biennale. He was awarded the Turner Prize in 1991 and the Unilever Commission for the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in 2002.
