Angela Rose is an author, lecturer, entrepreneur, and expert in assisting people in overcoming adversity. Her ten years of work on self-empowerment and community development have led her all over the country and overseas to talk about mind, body, and soul improvement. Angela specializes in assisting people in regaining control of their thoughts, reconnecting with the love and light inside, and transforming into their full human potential. Rose has worked with rape survivors in Uganda and presents annually at the International Conference on Violence, Abuse, and Trauma. She also led a four-day educational initiative in the Bahamas and was invited to participate in the Women's Global Dialogue for Action by former First Lady of France Cecilia Attias. Rose was also elected to the National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence's Executive Committee, which includes hundreds of state and federal agencies. Angela was kidnapped at knifepoint outside a suburban shopping mall when she was 17 years old. A serial sex offender on parole for murder assaulted her. She was eventually freed by her assailant, but she was subsequently victimized by authorities who exposed her to scrutiny, blame, and further abuse. From this terrible tragedy sprang one of the most ardent and effective campaigners for the prevention of sexual assault in the United States. Angela has advocated for important victim-protection legislation and emphasized the necessity of sexual assault education. Angela created PAVE: Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment, a global non-profit organization with over 50 chapters and affiliations, in 2001. PAVE's initiatives boldly aspire to one day turn our nation into one free of sexual assault — and to ensure that no victim ever feels alone or disempowered until we jointly accomplish this transformational goal. PAVE aims to educate communities about sexual and domestic abuse, empower victims, and eliminate injustice via intervention and prevention. Angela was elected to the NPEIV (National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence) Executive Committee. The National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence (NPEIV) was founded in 2008 to make the prevention of interpersonal violence a national priority and to promote healthy relationships by bringing together science, practice, policy, and advocacy. So far, almost 200 groups have joined forces to raise public awareness, improve education, encourage training and mentorship, bring grassroots and federal organizations together, distribute and translate information, and stress collaboration to develop best practices. Rose has been honored for her accomplishments by her alma institution, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she delivered the commencement address and was elected to serve as the Women's Issues Diversity Liaison. Angela was honored by Today's Chicago Woman magazine with "The Inspiration Award" and the YWCA with the "Promise Award." Angela received the "2012 Community Spirit Award" from Keller Williams Realty in January of 2013. Angela has earned several top sales success awards in real estate and real estate financing in her capacity as an entrepreneur and businessman. Angela is a filmmaker and musician who, through PAVE, has developed a series of interactive art pieces that were exhibited at the first Amnesty International Arts Festival in Washington, D.C.
