Subsequently obtaining a masters degree from the University of California based out in San Diego community and further advancing her pursuits culminating in a doctorate degree specializing in philosophy from Humboldt University situated in Berlin city.  During the 1960 70 era of Angelas activism drew interest across the country due to her participation in the Black Panther Party and the Communist Party USA where she championed civil rights and prison reform causes.Specifically in 1970 she faced accusations linked to a courthouse shooting incident which led her to flee as a fugitive.Unknown to people she later faced trial and was eventually acquitted which brought global focus on the prevalent racial biases and unfairness, within the American legal structure.  Following her exoneration in court proceedings Angela carried on with her advocacy and scholarly pursuits.
