Anat Lechner works at NYU Stern as a Clinical Associate Professor of Management and Organizations. Professor Lechner graduated from Rutgers University with a Ph.D. in Organization Management in 2000. She has also been honored with the GE Teaching Excellence Award. Professor Lechner's research focuses on how to effectively structure companies in order to generate innovative skills and outcomes. Her research covers a wide range of topics, including how to effectively utilize interdisciplinary teams, how to lead adaptive transformation, and how to create workplace cultures that foster originality and creativity. Her current research focuses on the challenges of leading high-performing cross-functional teams, as well as the ways in which physical office settings help employees cope with uncertainty, change, and the need to be more inventive. Professor Lechner also works as a management consultant and a Senior Executive Action Learning facilitator. Her client list includes Fortune 500 companies in the Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Energy, Food, High Tech, and Retail industries. She is a former Research Fellow at McKinsey & Co. and the founder of a boutique management consulting business.
