Ali Stroker Biography

Ali has been a New York City actress and singer for more than three quarters of her life. She began performing professionally at the age of eleven. Most recently, she was a finalist on season two of The Glee Project and then played Artie's love interest on the fifth season of GLEE. Ali grew up in Ridgewood, NJ and was a member of the New Player's Company. She is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, concentration in drama. After college, she performed Off Broadway in MRS. SHARP with Jane Krakowski. Ali was the lead in The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee at the Papermill Playhouse. Ali is paralyzed from the chest down due to a car accident, and has used a wheelchair since she was two-years-old. She strives to inspire other people with disabilities who want to pursue a career in performance to follow their dreams. She is a is a spokesperson for Colours Wheelchairs, The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and she is a founding member of The Walk and Roll Dance Team, and Be More Heroic, an anti-bullying campaign. Ali is a co-chair for the Women Who Care luncheon supporting United Cerebral Palsy. Ali is a teaching artist with Arts InsideOut and has traveled to South Africa twice to teach children and mothers affected by HIV/AIDS. Ali is driven to help others through the arts.
