Alexandra Reeve Givens Biography

Alexandra Reeve Givens is the founder and Executive Director of Georgetown Law's Institute for Technology Law & Policy. She formerly worked as Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property and Antitrust for the Senate Judiciary Committee and its Chairman/Ranking Member, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT). Senator Leahy sought her advice and helped create a legislative strategy on topics such as patent reform, federal trade secret law, net neutrality, First Amendment problems involving online expression, access to medications, and mergers and antitrust policy supervision. She formerly worked as a litigator in New York City at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. She graduated from Yale University with a B.A. and Columbia University School of Law with a J.D. She has been a member of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation's board of directors since 2006, and in April 2019, she was named Vice-Chair of the board.
