Musumarra, whose 25-year career has encompassed every kind of music, saw in Alessandro a power and sensuality he had never seen before. He saw Alessandro's uniqueness and desired the chance to work with him. Alessandro agreed right away, having been a long-time Musumarra fan. The three men met with producer Eric Ghenassia and immediately discovered they shared the same vision: to create a soulful new pop opera music. Alessandro took a hiatus from touring to work on the project alongside Musumarra and Ghenassia, motivated by the fresh challenge. One song led to the next, and so on, until the musical journey they had begun on was complete. Alessandro Safina is Safina's debut album and is a completely unique partnership. It embodies the project's pioneering attitude, and its innovative sound is instantly apparent in the album's first track and hit, Only You/Luna. In this song, a heavy-hearted, lyrical, and feminine chorus fades into the background, allowing Safina's incredibly strong and dark tenor to take center stage. It starts with a lovely instrumental and rapidly builds into a powerful display of passion and music. Despite the fact that this Italian singer, who grew up singing Puccini, is well aware of the differences between the two genres of music, he feels that they both possess the same tragic power that he has always admired.
