Alan Weiss is one of the few persons who can honestly claim to be a consultant, speaker, and author. Merck, Hewlett-Packard, GE, Mercedes-Benz, State Street Corporation, Times Mirror Group, Federal Reserve, The New York Times Corporation, Toyota, and over 500 other top companies have used his consulting business, Summit Consulting Group, Inc. In an editorial devoted to his work as a global specialist in executive education, Success Magazine acknowledged him. According to the New York Post, he is one of America's most well-known independent consultants. He is the recipient of the renowned Axiem Award for Audio Presentation Excellence. He is the first non-journalist to receive the American Press Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award, one of just seven given out in the organization's 65-year existence. He hosts an annual Thought Leadership Conference with speakers from around the world. Political commentator, best-selling author, and media darling James Carville was his featured speaker in 2014, Master of Influence Robert Cialdini was his featured speaker in 2015, and Dan Gilbert of Harvard was his featured speaker in 2016, with over 15 million views of his TED presentation on happiness. He has tutored past Miss Rhode Island/Miss America contenders in interviewing techniques. He previously appeared on the renowned American TV game show Jeopardy, when he was defeated by a dancing waiter from Iowa in the first round. Alan has been married to Maria for 47 years, and the couple has two daughters and twin grandchildren. Buddy, a Beagle, and Bentley, a white German Shepherd, live with them in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
