Will Wilkinson Biography

The Niskanen Center's research and publications are managed by Will Wilkinson, vice president for policy. Mr. Wilkinson served as The Economist's U.S. political correspondent before joining the Niskanen Center. Prior to this, he worked as a research fellow at the Cato Institute, where he published articles on a variety of subjects like Social Security reform, the political economy of inequality, and the implications of happiness research for policy. He served as the Institute for Humane Studies and the Mercatus Center's program director while also serving as Cato Unbound's founding editor. Mr. Wilkinson's writing has also appeared in Forbes, The Atlantic, Politico, The Boston Review, Bloomberg View, and other publications in addition to The Economist. He has written columns for The Week and frequently contributes to the Marketplace radio show on American Public Media. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master of Arts in philosophy and the University of Houston with a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing.
