Wendy Taylor joined the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in 2010 and is currently the head of the Center for Accelerating Innovation and Impact. The facility was developed and built by Taylor, who also organized a number of Grand Challenges to find worldwide answers to health problems, such as the Saving Lives at Birth and Fighting Ebola Grand Challenges, and several public-private collaborations. She previously served in the executive and legislative spheres of the US government, founded the nonprofit Bio Ventures for Global Health, and held senior positions with Malaria No More and the Biotechnology Industry Organization. Taylor chairs HANSHEP and sits on the North American Board of Medicines for Malaria Ventures.
