Pandora was started in January 2000 by Tim Westergren, who currently holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer. Tim has 20 years of experience in the music business and is a multi-award-winning composer, performer, and record producer. He has produced records, worked as a manager of musicians, maintained a commercial digital recording studio, scored motion pictures, and performed widely.
His primary instrument is the piano, although he has also played the bassoon, drums, and clarinet over the years. His musical background includes jazz, classical, blues, and rock. Tim completed his undergraduate work at Stanford University, where he focused on recording and computer acoustics.
