Steven Sasson is the creator of the digital camera and an American electrical engineer. Sasson received his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1972 and 1973, respectively. He went to Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated. In 1975, Eastman Kodak's Steven Sasson created the first digital camera.

It weighed 8 pounds (3.6 kg) and had a resolution of only 0.01 megapixels. The picture was recorded onto a cassette tape, which took 23 seconds to complete. His camera only captured black-and-white photographs. When he embarked on the electronic camera project, he envisioned a camera with no mechanical moving components in the future.
