Volunteer Services Overseas 1973-1974; clerk solicitor Freshfields 1975-1978; qualified in 1977; joined Bates Wells Braithwaite in 1980 and became a partner in 1984. Publications: Author of the Barclays Guide to the Law for the Small Business (1990), the Charities, Trading and the Law (1995) (co-author 2008 edition), and numerous articles; co-author of the Charities " The New Law 2006 (2007), the Fundraiser Guide to the Law (2000), and the Keeping it Legal (2000). Personal: Educated at Bristol University 1969-72 (History) and Cambridge University 1973 (Law); Chairman of CaSE " Charity and Social Enterprise Management LLP; and Trustees UnLimited LLP; Trustee of Global Cool Foundation, The Rainmaker Trust, and The Association of Charitable Foundations; Director of Social Stock Exchange Limited and Naturally Scientific Limited.
