Stanley Druckenmiller is a former chairman and president of Duquesne Capital and an American hedge fund manager. He was born in born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended school at Bowdoin College where he finished with a degree in economics.
Druckenmiller then enrolled in a doctoral economics program at the University of Michigan, but dropped out after being given a job as an oil analyst at Pittsburgh National Bank. Druckenmiller rose through the ranks of PNB's stock research section before departing in 1981 to establish his own business, Duquesne Capital Management.
