She joins an illustrious line of outstanding screenwriters as an alumnus of UCLA's professional screenwriting department, where she studied under chairman Richard Walter.

She got a Southeast EMMY� nomination for her work on Primary Concern, a PBS documentary about the approaching primary care problem in health care in the United States (2013-2014.) She is the author and producer of Ineffable, a documentary (in production) on what happens to us as a society when we drive the fine arts to the edges, which is also set to air on PBS.

Sarah-Jane will be a featured speaker at TEDx San Antonio's "Ideas In Action" event. Her TEDx Talk, Hardwired for Tale, investigates what happens in our brains when we hear or see a story and how it affects our lives. She is now working on a series of multimedia-rich ebooks on tale rhetoric for Livingston+McKay's peer-reviewed label Nibbles. Three Act What?

Great Story Structure is the first book in the series, and it establishes the framework for the subsequent works. She won not one, but two silver Telly Awards in 2014 for the trailer "Dance" for the documentary Ineffable. In 2013, the International Academy of Visual Arts awarded her the Communicator Award of Distinction from over 6,000 applicants globally.

She has taught screenwriting to a number of writers (including two New York Times bestsellers) and is now working on three unique narrative movies of her own. In 2015, a feature picture script she was commissioned to rework will go into production. Sarah-Jane resides in Austin, Texas, but goes to both coasts regularly.

When she is not teaching in the Honors College or Film Digital Media Department at Baylor University, or leading the team of the first English translation from Old French of the Ovide Moralis for the National Endowment for the Humanities, she may be found practicing her salsa routines.
