Sarabajaya Kumar Biography

Dr. Sarabajaya Kumar began working as a Teaching Fellow in Volunteer Sector Policy at the UCL School of Public Policy in January 2010. She has a BSc (Hons) in Sociology and Religion from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and postgraduate degrees in Public Policy and Management (MSc and Ph.D.) from the University of Aston. In the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Sarabajaya was a lecturer and the program director for an MSc (2000-2007). She was also the series editor and editor for the LSE's Centre for Civil Society Voluntary Sector Working Paper Series, funded by the Charities Aid Foundation. In addition, she served as an advisor to the Home Office as a member of the Governance Strategy Group, which was established to advise and supervise the development of an integrated Governance Strategy for the Third Sector. Sarabajaya had a Senior Research Fellowship at the Skoll Institute for Social Entrepreneurship at the Sad Business School between 2007 and 2009. She is a Governance, Accountability, and Innovation (GAIn) network member and an Associate Fellow of the Institute for Science, Innovation, and Society at the University of Oxford. She is researching "Social Capital in UK Public Policy" for the "Social Capital and Competitiveness: New Perspectives Project."
