With parents who were artists, the Hopkins, Minnesota native was born into the entertainment business. She ultimately attended Northwestern University, where she received her degree, and in 2008 she started her career as a television anchor.
Her initial stints in the spotlight included stints as a special correspondent on Good Morning America, a guest host on The Insider, and a journalist for E! Entertainment. However, she is best known for her two seasons as a Dancing with the Stars host.
