Koen Hoornaert Biography

I am a corporate lawyer at Baker & McKenzie, Brussels, Belgium and I am a member of the New York State Bar and Brussels Bar. I am also a part-time lecturer on Insolvency Law and International Business Law at the Catholic University of Leuven and the University of Hasselt. I have lived for four years in Washington D.C. and hold an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center (Class Valedictorian) where I studied as a Belgian American Educational Fellow and Francqui Fellow. Moreover, I was a Fellow of the Institute of International Economic Law as well. Further, I obtained a M.A. in American Studies from Antwerp University and a Master of Laws from Ghent University. I have also studied at Johns Hopkins University, W. Goethe University Frankfurt and American University Washington College of Law.
