Gabe was born in Montevideo Uruguay to Jeanette Grauer and Diego Saporta. He is of Sephardi Jewish and Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Originally his music career started in the punk-rock band 'Humble Beginnings.' From 1998 - 2004 Gabe was in the band Midtown from New Jersey.
In 2006 he formed the band Cobra Starship and signed to Pete Wentz's Decaydance record label. The band have featured on the soundtrack to the films's 'Snakes On A Plane' and 'TNMT.' The band have had two full length albums and have toured with many bands such as 'Fall Out Boy' and 'The Academy Is. .
