Dr. Magee is president of Positive Medicine Inc. a health leadership and communications firm committed to transforming powerful health visions into action. He also serves as executive director of the Rocking Chair Project a 501C3 non-profit organization focused on supporting economically disadvantaged mothers who are about to give birth. He is a veteran health journalist author of 10 books and past president of the National Association of Physician Broadcasters.
He serves as Senior Fellow for Health Policy at the Center for Aging Services Technologies and is a member of the Board of the National Alliance for Caregiving in Washington. He is founder and editor of HealthCommentary.org. He has served as Senior Fellow in the Humanities to the World Medical Association and as a David Rockefeller Fellow.
Dr. Magee is a former Senior Vice President of Pennsylvania Hospital and former vice-president and director of the Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative at Pfizer Inc.; an Honorary Master Scholar at NYU School of Medicine and Professor of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine; and former chairman of the board of the Kennedy Center's Very Special Arts for the Disabled.
