Dolores Huerta is a community organizer and a renowned activist for civil rights. For over 50 years, she also has a contribution to labor rights and social justice. In 1962, she and Cesar Chavez based the United Farm Workers union. She served as Vice President and performed a vital position in the various union’s accomplishments for 4 decades.
In 2002, she obtained the Puffin/Nation $100,000 prize for Creative Citizenship. She used this money to set up the Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF).
