Mr. Ditlev Engel has been the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Business Area at DNV GL Group AS since April 04 2016. Mr. Engel was an Industrial Advisor at EQT Partners AB. He served as Group Chief Executive Officer and President at Vestas Wind Systems A/S from May 1 2005 to August 21 2013. Before that from 1985 to 2005 he held several executive positions at coatings manufacturer Hempel A/S including Group Executive Vice President of Marketing & R&D. He served as the Managing Director at Hempel Marine Paints A/S. From 1990 to 1992 Mr. Engel served as Vice President at Hempel Hong Kong Ltd. From 1992 to 1995 he served as Vice President at Hempel Hai Hong Ltd. (Hong Kong). From 1995 to 1997 Mr. Engel served as President at Hempel Norge AS (Norway). From 1997 to 1999 he served as President at Hempel Hai Hong Ltd. (China). From 1999 to 2000 Mr. Engel served as Executive Vice President at Hempel A/S (Denmark) and from 2000 to 2005 he served as the Group President and Chief Executive Officer at Hempel A/S (Denmark). He has a comprehensive international business skillset and leadership experience from executive positions based in The Netherlands UK Hong Kong Denmark and Norway. Mr. Engel serves as a Board Member of HSA (Danmark) A/S and Hempel Contractors A/S. He served as a Member of the Board of TORM A/S (formerly Aktieselskabet Dampskibsselskabet Torm) from April 22 2002 to April 17 2007. He attended the General Management Program - INSEAD (France) in 1997 and received a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Accounting from Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) in 1990.
