David Toms Biography

David Toms is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour.

Toms was born in Monroe, Louisiana and enjoyed success in golf from the beginning of his playing days.  At the 1984 Junior World Golf Championships, David won the 15-17 age division.  He then went on to attend Louisiana State University.

After graduating from college, Toms joined the PGA Tour in 1992.  He has won one major championship, the 2001 PGA Championship, and a total of twelve events on the PGA Tour.

His winning score of 265 in the 2001 PGA Championship is the lowest absolute 72-hole score ever recorded in a major championship.
