About Christopher Anne Robinson-Easley

Christopher Anne Robinson-Easley Biography

Dr. Christopher Anne Robinson-Easley is the CEO of Enlightening Management Consultants, Inc. She spent over 20 years in management and leadership positions in the corporate business sector and 22 years in higher education in faculty (tenured and promoted to the rank of Full Professor in Management) and senior administrative roles (director, dean and VP levels). Dr. Robinson-Easley has also worked as a change management consultant since the early 1990’s.

She holds a B. S. in Psychology and a Master’s of Science degree in Industrial Relations both from Loyola University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in Organization Development from Benedictine University. Her research and consulting work has been presented throughout the United States, Europe and in the French West Indies, where she also teaches intercultural management.

Her work on gang intervention strategies is still considered cutting edge. In 2012, her book, Our Children…Our Responsibilities: Saving the youth we are losing to gangs (Peter Lang) was released and is housed in national and international university and public libraries, including the FBI’s library in Quantico.

Further demonstrating her understanding of workforce issues on a global scale is her second book, Preparing for Today’s Global Job Market: From the lens of color (Palgrave Macmillan), which was released in 2013. Dr. Robinson-Easley has provided job readiness skills training for over thirty years.

Her third book (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), Beyond Diversity and Intercultural Management addresses how the marginalization faced by people across many different realms of difference is causing significant strife in organizations, governments, and our education systems. Yet, the literature and conversations on diversity, intercultural management and change have not significantly changed in over twenty years. In this book, she developed a change model designed to challenge prevailing paradigms, and argues that while equal employment opportunity, diversity, and intercultural management are generally treated separately in the literature, these topics and related issues reside on one continuum and require the same core competencies and skills. This book, which was a follow-up work to her book, Preparing for Today's Global Job Market demonstrates that it is time to move away from a 'managing' mindset and towards a "valuing humanity" mindset, while concomitantly privileging the personal lenses, cultures, and micro-cultures of people across the globe.

Augmenting her interest and research in ethics and social responsibility on domestic and international levels, is her fourth book, Leadership for Global Systemic Change: Beyond Ethics and Social Responsibility (Palgrave Macmillan 2016). In this book, Dr. Robinson-Easley argues that organizations, corporations, and governments have the abilities and resources to drive deep systemic change, yet fail to utilize change strategies that can significantly improve the social fabric of our global environment. It actively engages the reader in a conversation that reviews, evaluates, and challenges these issues juxtaposed to current strategies and resulting positions regarding business ethics, social responsibility, our view towards humanity, and the role of leaders. Dr. Robinson-Easley includes a detailed change model designed to create significant global change that builds upon the current work of the United Nations’ Global Compact, and incorporates the participation of all critical stakeholders including corporate leaders, civil society, government leaders, and the people who are challenged daily by ethical dilemmas and social responsibility initiatives.
