Chad Goodman Biography

Chad Goodman maintains an active career as a conductor, trumpeter and music educator. As Founder and Artistic Director of Elevate Ensemble, Chad offers audiences a unique way of experiencing the Bay Area’s vibrant music scene. His progressive vision for concert programming results in the pairing of music from rising local composers with under-appreciated gems of the 20th century.

As a trumpeter, Chad has performed with the Monterey Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley, Symphony Napa Valley, Berkeley Symphony, and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.

This fall, Chad will visit universities and conservatories around the country, presenting his lecture “You Just Earned a Music Degree. Now What?” in which he teaches the business and entrepreneurial skills needed to successfully navigate the world as a working musician.

Chad holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music degree from San Francisco State University. His mentors include conductors Alasdair Neale, Cyrus Ginwala, and Martin Seggelke, and trumpeters James Thompson, Adam Luftman, and Andrew Balio.
