Buzz Williams Biography

Brent "Buzz" Williams is the head coach of the men's basketball team at Texas A&M. From 2014-19, Williams led Virginia Tech to three NCAA Tournament appearances. He previously took over as Marquette's 16th head basketball coach on April 7, 2008, following Tom Crean's departure to Indiana University. He served as head men's basketball coach at the University of New Orleans during the 2006-2007 season, and as an assistant coach at Texas A&M, Colorado State, Northwestern State, Texas A&M Kingsville and The University of Texas at Arlington. Williams signed a six-year contract with Marquette University for an undisclosed annual salary.

Williams grew up in Van Alstyne, Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Oklahoma City University in 1994 and a Masters in the same field at Texas A&M-Kingsville in 1999. Williams and his wife, Corey Norman, have two daughters (Addyson & Zera) and two sons (Calvin & Mason).
