Ahmet Zappa Biography

Ahmet Emuukha Rodan Zappa (born May 15, 1974) is a writer, producer, and publisher from the United States. Ahmet had a frequent appearance on Channel 4 UK's The Adam and Joe Show in the late 1990s, in a program dubbed Vinyl Justice, in which hosts Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish, acting as cops, combed through his vinyl collection for criminal records. Ahmet made his acting debut in the 2000 film Ready to Rumble. He also sang a rendition of Britney Spears' song...Baby, One More Time for the film's soundtrack alongside his brother Dweezil. Ahmet's debut work, The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless, was released in July 2006, and it was intended for younger people. Bruckheimer Films and Disney had already purchased the film's rights. The film is now under development, with screenwriter Tim Firth assisting, and a release date has yet to be established. The Jim Henson Company announced on October 19, 2006, that Ahmet has been engaged to develop a proposal for a feature picture adaptation of the hit 1980s television show Fraggle Rock. He's also working on a sequel to The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless, which has been optioned for a screenplay adaptation. Bob Iger, Disney's studio boss, was approached by Ahmet Zappa with the notion of creating a graphic novel-to-film division. Iger, seeing the studio's need for such a thing, let Ahmet run with it and gave him complete control over what became known as Disney's Kingdom Comics. Ahmet was also offered a first look contract for motion film works at Walt Disney Studios. Monsterfoot Productions is the name of his firm. Since then, he has produced and sold a number of films. The Odd Life of Timothy Green, starring Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton, was released on August 15, 2012, by Walt Disney Pictures.
